Five reasons for happiness in life
1:55:22 2024-09-22 1393

The Imams of the Household (peace be upon them) teach us everything that leads us towards the requirements of happiness in this world and the hereafter. That is why we find in their words the keys to building and developing the self, the paths to safety and the ropes of salvation from misery and unhappiness in this world and the hereafter. Our Master, Imam Abu Abdullah al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), stated five characteristics. Whoever lacks one of them will continue to have an incomplete life, a fading mind, and a preoccupied heart. They are: -

First: Physical health: The safety of the body from defects, the continuity of health from diseases and ailments, and the enjoyment of ability and wellness are considered among the greatest blessings and the highest in rank among the many and great blessings, and their loss is the loss of the feeling of pleasure, rather their loss is one of the causes of misery and sadness, as being afflicted with a disease or illness is considered one of the things that spoil life and robs comfort.

Second: Security: A person cannot enjoy life if he feels that there is a danger threatening his life or that something is happening that scares him and makes him anxious. The essence of life is that the individual is safe from the deprivation of rights or the expectation of harm and damage.

Third: Abundance of livelihood: If a person secures his sustenance, he will feel reassured and calm. It is very certain that abundance of livelihood achieves complete reassurance and the disappearance of anxiety from want and poverty. Because the material ability and the availability of a large balance that secures a person's material needs and spares him poverty and need is considered one of the greatest reasons for happiness.

Fourth: The compatible companion: They are: (the righteous wife, the righteous child, and the righteous companion); the presence of harmony and regularity in family and social life means that life is free of disagreements that lead to conflict and discord. The occurrence of quarrels and disputes spoils relationships. It is clear that if a person has a disagreement with his wife or son, he will suffer from disturbance and confusion, and thus his life will not be clear. The same is the case with colleagues and friends at work and elsewhere.

Fifth: Serenity: It means tranquility and peace of mind from the troubles and responsibilities that confuse life. If all of the above things are available without contentment, satisfaction, and peace of mind, then they will be things that lack their value and fruit, and then a person will not attain happiness.
