Here’s a wonderful idea. It holds some powerful advantages.
Take responsibility for your choices in life. By doing so, you owe no one anything at all.
You won’t be afraid of disappointing others. The hopes and expectations of others belong to them—they are not obligations you are required to fulfill.
You can make your own decisions:
Where to go? What to do? Where to settle? What to eat? When to leave a place? How long to stay at home?
You can say "no" without guilt, and "yes" without feeling selfish.
And if you can’t take responsibility for the things you want to do without someone else's help, let that be a sign—a reminder of the boundaries you need to respect and an encouragement to expand your horizons. Realism is the best inspiration for creativity.
If you truly want to do something, you will do it—you will either create a plan or find a way to make it happen. You can achieve it if you genuinely want to.
And if you can’t figure out how to do what you want right away, maybe there’s more than one valuable lesson for you to learn. Perhaps it’s time to reconsider your lifestyle, what brings you happiness, and what responsibilities you can or cannot bear.
Maybe you need to accomplish more in your career, which is why you don’t yet feel like rewarding yourself for the suffering you endure in a boring job.
A happy life is measured by the reality you live—not your imagination.
The wealthy can buy anything they want—but not everything.
The poor feel like they owe the whole world.
I don’t need anything from others except to be understood.
I give myself what I need.
If someone wants my love, let them love me.
And if they don’t, let them hate me.
