Therapeutic education how is this achieved?
To actually be able to motivate, inspire and engage learners with these significant difficulties there is a need for educators to do the following:
■ develop strategies that better inform daily lesson delivery and planning;
■ be more flexible and creative in planning and delivering the curriculum;
■ use positive relationships to counter the insecurity of current educational challenges;
■ be more sensitive to learners’ individuality;
■ listen better;
■ recognize and contextualize the learners’ characteristics and work more effectively with them;
■ move beyond simple behavioral technologies and into more holistic, nurturing and therapeutic approaches.

Using the list of objectives above, consider how the educational establishment in which you work could develop specific areas to enable the development of a more therapeutic environment.
