The role of a father in defining the personality of his child

The father and mother must be a role model for their child, so that it is easy for the child to imitate good behavior in his life, instead of implementing advice and orders for behaviors he does not see. We will present the forms of parental authority disorder and begin with:

First: The quarrelsome father: We do not deny the existence of the quarrelsome mother. However, the mother, due to her closeness to her children, usually succeeds in attaching the characteristic of quarrelsomeness to the father, taking a masochistic position for herself. The effect of these situations on the child is the same as the effect of marital disputes in general.

Second: The indifferent father: The father's indifference usually reflects his feeling of inability to bear his family responsibilities. Children easily perceive this feeling.

They resort to freezing the father's authority by focusing on the mother in their request for everything they need. This voluntary absence of the father by the children is paralleled by the mother's increasing dominance, which encourages the children to bypass the father's authority.

Third: The Bad Father: The bad father is not a rare phenomenon. There are many bad fathers. Some of them are addicted to alcohol or drugs, gamblers, dependents, cruel, and some have anti-social tendencies that may reach the point of crime. It is natural that such a father will negatively affect the upbringing of his children, and treating such a father is an urgent necessity to save the family and its children in particular.

Fourth: The Dead Father: The problem of orphanhood is the most severe problem in a child's life. This suffering hides its impact not only in the child's future personality, but it also extends to affect his children.

Fifth: The Absent Father: The main harm of the father's absence stems from the absence of the authority he represents, and from the children's hesitation and inability to establish effective communication with him. In these cases, the child may hesitate to take a position towards the father until his positions range between considering him:

  • That one day he will come to fulfill all my wishes.
  • Indifferent I cannot depend on him.
  • Bad, he only cares about himself and his whims.
