Happiness stems from the depths of a person and his outlook on things. Therefore, we may find the richest people miserable, complaining of depression and boredom, and we find the poorest of them thanking Allah and smiling from the depths of their heart. The secret is in a person’s conviction about what is in his hands, and the degree of his faith.
First: Your happiness is created by your thoughts:
A person's happiness and misery, or his anxiety and tranquility, stem from his soul alone. It is He who gives life it's joyful, or vibrant color, just as a liquid is colored by the color of the vessel it contains.
Second: Happiness is in work, not in money:
Engagement in work is a means of happiness. Fruitful work saves its owner from the desolation of emptiness and the evils of unemployment.
He who loves his work and is satisfied with it; and his happiness with his work increases if he does not make his purpose merely to collect money. True happiness does not befall a person according to the money he has, but rather according to what he does with this money.
Third: Happiness is knowing what you want:
The secret of happiness is to first know what you want, then be encouraged to take what you want, and resolve to be happy. Do not let the misfortunes of the world overcome you, and do not drown in your tears, but rather struggle until you come out of the battle victorious.
Fourth: Happiness in health:
Health is the most precious type of happiness, and happiness is not about money, prestige, or power...but above all, it is complete health. When it is available to a person, all calamities become easy for him.
