A conversation took place between a husband and his wife after he saw her complaining a lot about not achieving her ambitions, so he said to her:
What are your most important goals that you aspire to achieve, and you still find obstacles to that?
She said: There are many...but the most important of them to my heart and soul is seeking Islamic knowledge, purifying myself from what disgraces it in the sight of Allah, and beautifying it with good deeds.
Him: Excellent.. What is delaying you from achieving this?
She said there are two reasons:
Caring for children and managing the house
This makes me postpone and procrastinate
He said: As for the first reason: What if you did not get married? Will you make progress in seeking knowledge and refining yourself?
What would you do if you missed the train of connection with your life partner?
Wouldn’t you be suffering from the heartbreak of not getting married? And you mourn your luck?
Isn't this a big obstacle?
Then what if you were married and did not have children? Wouldn't this, in your view, be a heavy worry and an inherent sadness that would weigh on your mind? Do you go to the doctors and cry bitterly at the door of the saints so that Allah may grant you children?
Isn’t spinsterhood or infertility also an obstacle that confuses your psychological state?!
Her: Yes, your words are true and realistic?
Him: So the path of seeking knowledge and purifying oneself is not without obstacles, but we are the ones who magnify them and make them obstacles that affect our ambitions, so we procrastinate in taking the initiative, thus hope lengthens, opportunities are lost, and life ends!
So, my dear wife, hasten to achieve your goal by correcting your intellectual perspective and changing your convictions, for the idea in your mind is a clear fallacy!
