Parents must teach their children the importance of work
5:57:8 2024-01-02 1116

Parents must raise their children to love goodness and good deeds, and their children must grow up loving work and goodness. Laziness and excessive enjoyment are the basis of deviations. People who are accustomed to working from a young age will have more successful lives than others.

Some people believe that children are only meant to study and play, and this is a wrong perception. Parents must provide everything the children desire and that the children should live in absolute luxury and comfort. Without a doubt, we find that children and young people need to play and watch and must study in the correct and required manner, but the child’s development takes place in all aspects and personal dimensions. His mind and hand must develop at the same time, and he must have individual and social skills. Basically, as Mutahhari expressed, work raises a person. That is, just as a person generates work, work will also contribute to building the person’s personality.

Parents, using the educational perspective, must assign some simple tasks to their children, encourage them to strive, and gradually assign more responsibilities to their children so that they are prepared for an effective life filled with movement and activity.

The work assigned to children must take into account the child’s ability and spiritual and physical energy, as rough and tiring work is not compatible with the child’s interests and rights.

Some parents, out of compassion and excessive love for their children, do not assign their adult children and youth to work, to the point that they do their children’s personal work. This method is wrong and harmful because it leads to unemployment from work, which is considered the basis of many pitfalls. An unemployed person is a person who has no purpose in his life and may rush towards... The illusions and fantasies that he weaves around himself because of the state of emptiness in which he lives.
