If the parents are committed to the provisions of religion, perform their religious duties, and avoid forbidden things, then they will automatically be interested in their children’s education and upbringing. The parents must talk to the child about the following matters gradually and clearly, according to the child’s understanding, and without putting pressure on him by:
Creating a correct religious outlook for the child
They draw a look at the world of created beings and the necessity of having a Creator for them.
They tell him about the emergence of prophets, religions, and sects, and the necessity of adhering to religion.
Teach him the Holy Qur’an
They accompany him to the mosque and mention his good deeds in performing religious duties.
Children must learn the rulings of religion, and they must be encouraged to read the book of rulings designated for schoolchildren, as this leads to expanding the scope of religious information they have. Children are naturally attracted to the Almighty, and in their early upbringing they are ready to develop the religious spirit in them and accept the teachings and doctrinal guidance. Parents must explain to them the concepts of purity and impurity, permissible and forbidden, and punishment and reward. Examples must be given to clarify these concepts, as well as an explanation of how to interact with the opposite sex. These instructions must be done naturally and without any harshness or pressure, and punishment and humiliation must be avoided in the way to develop the religious feeling and doctrinal personality of children.
It is necessary to prepare religious books in the field of the history of the prophets, the history of the emergence of Islam and the lives of the pure Imams (peace be upon them), and in the interpretation of the Qur’an and some other books such as Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, as well as useful and interesting religious stories, as all of this is among the factors influencing the creation of the correct religious image for children
