Instagram has unveiled three new updates to Reels video creation, which make it easier to create premium Reels videos, without the need for complex third-party video editing tools.
Reels videos are a major focus for both Instagram and Facebook, with AI-recommended Reels videos within Meta's live stream helping both apps grow.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, previously noted that Reels videos now account for 50 percent of the total time users spend on Instagram.
If you want to maximize engagement rates across Facebook or Instagram, you need to create short, engaging videos, as users respond better to in-the-moment clips, rather than promotions.
Instagram has added new editing options directly within the Reels video composer, giving you more ways to customize your creations. You can now trim and change your clips directly during the uploading process, which can make it easier for you to come up with unique angles for your posts.
Instagram has also added new buttons to find relevant editing tools, along with adding “Undo” and “Redo” buttons as well to make editing easier.
These useful updates don't change things significantly, although they are functional and practical UI changes that should enable better in-stream editing.
