Skills to communicate with your child

There is an old saying that you can judge a man's value as a husband by the quality of his relationship with his mother. In fact, a boy's relationship with his mother is one of the deepest and longest relationships he can have in his life, and it should be the healthiest, safest, and most supportive relationship as well. Here are some suggestions for building a strong, loving relationship with your son:

• Listen and observe. Good mothers are willing to spend time just listening and observing. Ask curious questions to get your child talking; Let him finish his thoughts before you offer advice and suggestions.

• Spend time with him. Relationships take time. You must be prepared to stay with him, play with him, and do face-to-face activities with your son. Devote at least fifteen minutes a day to your son alone... Don't do a thousand tasks at the same time!

• Respond to your son’s hints. When he says, "I can do this on my own, Mom!", teach him the necessary skills, make sure he's safe, and then let him try. Skills and experiences help him develop his self-esteem.

• Be curious about his interests. If your son loves an activity, share his enthusiasm; this sharing is a great way to build a bond between you. Watch his favorite sport with him; Watch for the good movement he learns on the skateboard. Understanding your child's world keeps you connected to him.

• Get to know his friends. There is no better way to learn more about your child than by watching him play with his friends. Welcome your son's friends into the home as he grows. If he can bring his life to you, he likely won't feel the need to hide it from you.

• Respect his privacy. Even young boys need some time for themselves. Your son may choose to play alone in his room from time to time or hide under the headphones of his computer or recording device. You can show him that you care about him while also respecting his space.

• Adopt gentle and firm discipline and do not be afraid to follow through until the end. ((Wait until your father is banned from work)) will not succeed. Learn effective discipline skills, then be prepared to set limits and follow through.

• Be sensitive about touching him, especially in front of others. Hugs are great, but some touches may make your son feel uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially as he gets older. You may want to set family rules, such that the bathroom and bedrooms (yours and his) are private spaces and cannot be entered without knocking on the door. Respecting his needs will help keep your relationship relaxed, open, and honest.

Boys need to communicate with their mothers. If it were not for the interference of the outside world, most of them would have been happy to maintain a close and close relationship throughout their growing up years. Knowing your son will help you know when he welcomes a hug and when he doesn't. It's a delicate balance, but time and love will teach you how to stay connected with your son while simultaneously encouraging him to exercise his independence.
