What we want as parents is to make things good for our children. If our child hurts himself, we kiss him and wish him recovery. If he gets into a problem, we hope he solves it. If our child is sad, we embrace him. If someone mistreats him, we intervene to fix things.
But sometimes your children are forced to face really difficult situations, without us being able to solve them for them, and just feeling that we are unable to help is a very bad thing. One of the worst things in life is to see your child suffering without being able to end his suffering, but this may happen. ; When someone dies, you cannot bring them back, no matter how much your child loves them and misses them. Sometimes your child has a disease that you cannot do anything about, or you may have separated from your partner and cannot be there for your child.
It is important for your children to learn the following lesson: crises happen, and sometimes there is nothing anyone can do to solve them. It may be difficult to learn such a lesson when you are young, and watching your children learn it may tear your heart, but they must learn it, sooner or later, and there is nothing you can do if they face a similar situation in their lives. All you can do is comfort them during this situation, but you will not be able to prevent their pain.
This rule, then, revolves around the fact that there is nothing you can do; the mistake is not always your fault, and no one else, if they were in your place, could do anything about it; this is a sudden bump, nothing more. Don't blame yourself because you don't deserve this; The situation itself is difficult enough, and you may be going through the same pain yourself, in addition to watching your child suffer, and you do not need to make it worse for yourself. Just take it easy on yourself.
Remember, your child does not expect you to perform miracles; He is not stupid, and he knows that there is nothing you can do. All you can do for him now is give him your love and affection, and that is what you should do and nothing more. This will probably relieve you both, even if just a little.
