A cardiologist explains how to delay the worsening of high blood pressure

Dr. Tatiana Romanenko, a specialist in cardiovascular diseases, announced that the exacerbation of high blood pressure can be “postponed” by 10-30 years by exercising, quitting smoking and drinking alcohol.

In an interview with Radio “Sputnik”, and followed by “The Information”, the doctor indicates that a person can feel a high level of blood pressure through various symptoms: fever, chills, headache, heaviness in the head, seeing flies in front of the eyes, nausea, dizziness, and disturbances in the functioning of the body. When you feel any of them, this is a sign, and you must measure your blood pressure.

According to her, many develop high blood pressure without symptoms, which poses a threat to their lives.

She says, "Many people do not feel high blood pressure. But this does not mean that they do not suffer from this problem. Therefore, their injury is only diagnosed when they suffer from a health problem - myocardial infarction, stroke, kidney injury, eye injury."

The doctor points out that the factors causing the development of high blood pressure are: smoking, excessive salt and alcohol abuse, excess weight, sedentary lifestyle, and stressful situations. Also, the presence of those suffering from this problem among relatives is an important reason to constantly monitor the level of blood pressure. All of these factors can be controlled except for heredity.

She says: “If we remove the risk factors – restoring a normal body weight, exercising, walking, not consuming alcohol and salt, getting enough sleep, not feeling nervous, quitting smoking, then of course we can delay the worsening of high blood pressure for 10-30 days.” years."

She points out that a doctor should be consulted when the blood pressure level index is 130-140 at 80-85 mm Hg column, as this index can be reduced without the use of drugs. But if the index is higher, it becomes difficult to reduce it without taking medication.
