Huge fires in Canada have devoured more than 10 million hectares this year, an area unprecedented in the country's history.

The previous record for burned areas dates back to 1989 and amounted to 7.3 million hectares, according to figures from the Forest Fire Monitoring Center in Canada.

In a total number, the country has counted 4,088 forest fires since January, noting that 906 fires are still ongoing on Saturday, including 570 out of control.

According to information released by the government on Saturday, the fires are expected to increase in the coming weeks.

In recent years, Canada, whose temperature is rising faster than the rest of the world due to its geographical location, has faced severe weather phenomena that have increased in severity and frequency due to climate change.
